What if?
What if I already have a copy of the product installed, then backup
your pp001.ini file and BPComp.dat file install the product.
The major differences between the new pp001.ini file is that is has
two new sections if you copy these to new sections accross into your old
ini file then when pytheas runs it will automatically update any old
settings to the new format..
Introduction
Pytheas is utility that Stores a component or groups of components
saves their properties and offers the ability to recall them at any time
when using a form.
Not all components are supported like the TMainmenu and components that
comprimise of sub components, will be be fixed in the 32bit version.
There is a limit to how many components can be stored in a group and that
is 10 but again will be removed in the 32bit version and in version 2.
Pytheas also has a built-in glyph manager that allows selection of any glyph
and can automatically insert the selected glyph, into a selected TBitBtn or
TSpeedButton. If you need it to provide the same feature for your custom
components please contact us.
Pytheas can also keep track of Projects with the aid of storing them and there
descriptions it can be a great time saver. Also you can assigned a bitmap to
the button if needed just edit the button and right click on the button
available..
(this utility has saved me hours in developing forms and managing projects)
Procedure/Function lister if the Hot Keys are turned then try Ctrl F2 if not
click on the appropriate button, the current forms will appear, the
procedure lister has the same behaviour as the editor as in Ctrl+tab will
take you to the next page ctrl+Enter will open a pas file and process it.
Also if you are using the Brief Style in the editor then change the editor
settings in the settings page.
The Edit field on the system page is to provide a mechanism for multiple
selecting of components or just selecting one component just enter a
prefix and press Enter as long as there is an active form.
Pytheas started out as rough expirement and has grown into very interesting
project. I have started on a 32bit version (March 96) thought I will
be developing a whole new look and feel to the product.
If you have any requests as the new 32bit offers a bucket load of new
options to control the delphi IDE just post me a line no matter how strange it
may seem.
P.S. I have a network version if anyone is interested as well.
